Travel House 2014 has finished

Travel House in Tbilisi, more visited than ever before, has successfully ended. Before we dive into finances and statistics, a word or two about what we did on the last days.

Eight travellers organised a hitchhiking race to David Gareji monastery, located in the middle of the desert, to which there's no traffic whatsoever, unless you pay for a taxi. One day race stretched to two days, since the last team arrived to the monastery in the evening, and that everyone had to walk 8 km through the desert. Since there was absolutely nothing in its surrounding, they asked monks if they could sleepover, which they approved, under the condition that girls sleep outside. And to watch out for the wolves. Since splitting was not an option, one of the monks mentioned that there is a semi-abandoned seismological station nearby, where they all spent the night finally. In the morning they walked again 8 km and by evening everyone was back to the house, only starving.

Everyone who was going towards Russia came back to the house temporarily, since there was a landslide on the road to the only border crossing between Russia and Georgia. Three people died, and the road and the border closed for at least a month. After a few days of planning, one part left via Azerbaijan, the other went to search for a ferry from Turkey, and the third decided to travel around, while waiting for the border reopening.

In the centre of Tbilisi, hidden behind sulphur baths, we found a small canyon with a waterfall. We recorded there Georgian polyphonic singing.

House statistics

Unlike the previous years, this time we didn't depend on Couchsurfing. Most visitors came via our website, which they found either using the word of the mouth or by seeing a link on pages like hitchwiki.org.

This year we lacked house staff, so we were looking for travellers weary of the road or stuck, and then we made a deal with them that they can stay longer, under the condition they help with maintaining the house order. Mateusz stayed with us about one month, until he snuck out of the place, leaving a goodbye note. James, cyclist from the UK who lost his credit card and had to wait for it, helped us for about ten days.

On the last day the landlord didn't show up. She wanted to, but had to travel out of Tbilisi. We still owed money for the utilities for whole August, and the sofa was in a poor condition. We agreed about everything on the phone, with the help of Temur. We checked the electricity and gas counters, bargained for the sofa and left the money to Temur.

Where will be the next Travel House?

We've been asked that a lot, but we still don't have an answer. At the beginning of the next year, after we solve some organisational issues (above all lack of staff), we'll have more information.

Stories from the Travel House

It has been a month and a half since the opening of the Travel House in Tbilisi. Up to now, the house hosted 234 visitors from 35 different states, which exceeds the number of people who visited travel houses in Granada or Istanbul during the entire existence of this project.

Roland, the founder of the "Institute of Applied Corruption", arrived from Vienna. If you want to become a professionally corrupted figure in society, you can take the Institute's tour through Vienna to find out how the best ones in the field did it. They are planning to publish a book in fall with detailed instructions on the matter.

Marko from Kruševac, a city in Serbia, who among other things worked as a plumber on the island of Malta for a year, fixed the laundry machine. We weren't so lucky to have the air conditioner repaired as well, so it never became functional. Just for the information, the temperatures would rise up to 35°C and higher in the town, and even more in the house.

Mateuš from Poland helped us enormously with keeping the household and bringing spirit into it. He decided to continue his trip because his visa for Iran would soon expire. He prepared us a farewell dinner - a traditional Polish meal called placki ziemniaczane or potato pancakes. We said our goodbyes, exchanged lots of hugs and then met him again in the apartment in the morning. "This house is like a magnet, it doesn't let me leave," he said. In the following couple of days, he was making plans on how to leave for real this time. He made it in the end – he got up at 6 o'clock in the morning while everybody was still sleeping, snuck out of the place, leaving a goodbye note.

A couple of days later, a couple from Belarus made their traditional meal as well – the exact same potato pancakes. The Ukrainians established as a fact that they were convinced that the pancakes were a Ukrainian traditional meal. The same thing happened with the Lithuanians.

Tbilisi: The First Month

After getting evicted, the life in the Travel House entered into a quiet phase. The suburb and the new flat have their advantages, above all it's now possible to make a draft and the temperature is more bearable than in the center, even though still in the category of unbearableness. Since everyone from the Russian House for All have continued their trip, there hasn't been as much demand for the House as in the beginning, and we never had more than about twenty travelers at once. In total we've been visited by 157 travelers from 31 countries, much more compared to the same period in the previous years. We also had our youngest visitor ever — a one-year-old baby — part of a Belarus trio who came by hitchhiking from Armenia.

Most of the travelers apply directly through our website, having heard about the project from other travelers on the road, or read about it on HitchWiki and other travel websites. In other words, we don't depend so much on CouchSurfing anymore. Most people come from Poland, Germany and Russian-speaking countries.

Takahiro from Japan, our old acquaintance from the Granada Travel House, continued his trip to Iran. However, we've found a new helper — Mateusz, a traveler from Poland, who decided to stay in the House and help with the project.

The piano was just a piece of furniture until Inesa came, a piano teacher from Lithuania who was also in the previous two houses.

Daniela and Alex from Czech Republic/Germany put Georgian alphabet on the wall, so that we can look helplessly at it.

Mo (India) and Margarita (Bulgaria) met John (Canada) in the Travel House, and decided to make a camp on the way to the Kazbegi church, apparently a very popular destination, and open a "mini shop". They are selling tea and small items for peanuts, in order to get some extra funds for their travels. Each morning they hitchhike to the nearest town for fresh supplies and then back.

Some visitors come only in daytime for a shower and rest. At nights they sleep in the Vake park, occupied by the locals with the help of travelers, to prevent the local government to demolish it and build a hotel there.

We visited the sulphur baths in the old town, similar to hamam. The entrance fee is slightly less than a euro for females and slighly more than a euro for males. Females, unfortunately, don't have a bath nor a sauna, just showers. If anyone plans to visit, beware that you have to be naked and bring your own soap and scrub (kartula). On the other hand, you could also swim in some of Tbilisi lakes. The most popular one is "Tbilisi sea", a big water reservoir above the city.

The smell of fruits is all around the streets. It's possible to buy them on improvised street stalls until midnight. The alternative is kachapuri, a cheese pie of which each region has its own version, and which is often our breakfast.

We also had two suicidal birds, which smashed into our windows at full speed and died. One while this text was being written. So we've learned that the windows should never be too clean. Shortly thereafter, we experienced a precedent in the history of Tbilisi - a power and water cut throughout the city, lasting from the evening until the morning.

Tbilisi Travel House is Open!

We've found the apartment!

The Travel House is located in the old part of Tbilisi, in the very centre, five minutes from the metro stop. The apartment is 140 m² (Google Converter says that's 1,500 sqft), has wooden floors, three big bedrooms and a kitchen with a dining room. There were fifteen old chairs (ten of which we threw out), two falling apart beds, two tables and no dishes. We dismantled one of the beds and left only mattresses so that we could have more space.

Like in the previous years, the local help was crucial for finding the apartment. Temur, the guy who contacted us through our website to offer help, hosted us during the search, kept us well fed with the help of his wife, and wore off his shoes walking with us all over the city. As it was the case in the previous years, nobody wanted to hear about renting for only two months.

After four days of the quest, the owner of an apartment we checked out the first day called us back. That was also the best apartment we'd seen. We went to his workplace (gynaecology department) to negotiate. The only thing we understood is ara, which means no in Georgian, which was about every fifth word of the conversation. The owner was worried we'd make troubles and run away, so he required signing the contract with our Tbilisi host. He told us he knew that we needed the apartment for "daily rentals". Also, he asked for more money because he's giving us the apartment for a shorter period, which we accepted but under the condition of not leaving the deposit, and that he provides a washing machine. By the way, we arranged not to pay the water bills – the apartment didn't have the intercom, so the deal was: we take care of the intercom and the owner takes care of the water bills. Afterwards we went to the market and bought a wireless bell for €5.

The rent is €550 per month, like in the last two years. It's a coincidence, we swear! The whole contract, in Georgian, will be sent to you upon your request, and here we give you the scan of the first page.

We need to add the cost of the Internet, gas and electricity to this amount. Not the cost of water – unless the man changes his mind after seeing how much water we've spent. Internet will be around €60 for the two month period, and for gas and electricity we don't' know. This year we had significantly larger start-up costs. During the first two days, we had to spend €85 to furnish the apartment with some necessary stuf. It would've cost us more if Temur weren't a tough negotiator in the market place. We've bought cleaning supplies, a bathroom curtain, basic groceries, washing powder and many tiny things that added up.

We bought 20 sqm (215 sqft) of nylon. It still hurts that we had to pay €400 to paint the walls in Granada, and €65 in Istanbul. The nylon cost was €8, along with the sellotape.

The apartment was awfully dirty. Takahiro, a Japanese guy travelling by motorcycle for three years, our old acquaintance from Granada, came to help us clean the apartment the day before opening The Travel House. Our hosts Maya and Temur came to help too. They brought us a pile of dishes and a big saucepan. Tahakiro showed us how to scrub the floor Japanese style (or his style).

The only thing we haven't taken care of yet is the extra keys. The building key is antique – like the key to a monastery or your grandpa's cellar, even longer! Such keys are no longer in use here in Georgia, so there's no locksmith who could make us a copy. One of them promised to melt two big keys to make one giant; we just have to wait and see if he'll succeed.

Travel House 2014: Tbilisi

After Istanbul and Granada, our Travel House is moving to Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. All travelers can stay there for free, between July 1 and September 1 2014. The Travel House is a place for travelers to sleep, eat, get to know each other, connect, share stories, experiences and skills. It’s a small step towards building a global culture of independent, exploratory and creative travels, but above all a step towards building a culture of solidarity and understanding of our planet.

Over the past two years, 443 travelers coming from 51 countries were hosted in our Travel Houses. The youngest was 14 months old, the oldest 61 years. People traveled, explored, talked, cooked, played music, wrote and read, new friendships were forged and old were rekindled.

Why Tbilisi?

Georgia is a great travel base for exploring the region. It shares borders with Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia. Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan are also nearby. There are ferries going across the Caspian Sea to Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

Caucasus region is inhabited by multitude of peoples, with their own distinct cultures and languages. There is the Russian republic of Dagestan, lining the Caspian Sea, right next to Georgia. There are also Abkhazia, Svanetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Cherkessia, Ossetias, Chechnya, Ingushetia. If you thought Balkans is an extremely beautiful and dangerously complex ethnic mix, you should see the Caucasus.

Staying in the Travel House

The limit for staying in the House is 4 nights. You will need to register via an application form that will be published soon.

If there is room at the time you might be able to stay more, provided that you’re willing to help with the housework.

How to reach Tbilisi?

There are several options. Here are some of our suggestions:

1. Balkan Flexipass, a rail pass valid for Serbia, Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey. If you're younger than 26 it costs 53 euros, and if you're older 88. With this ticket you can go from Belgrade to Kars (a city in the far northeast of Turkey, close to Georgian border) and back. From Kars to Tbilisi you can take a bus or hitchhike.

2. Turkish low cost company Pegasus offers cheap flights to Istanbul from many European cities, and also from Istanbul onwards to Tbilisi, Batumi, Krasnodar and Baku. For a map of all Pegasus’ flights please click here: all flights and Turkey.

3. Hitchhiking. Turkey is maybe the best country in the world when it comes to hitchhiking. Still, we advise girls against hitchhiking alone.

4. Bus ticket from Istanbul to Tbilisi is around 35 euros one way.

5. Wizzair flies to Baku (Azerbaijan) from Budapest. Price of a return ticket is around 90 euros. There are also flights to Kutaisi (Georgia) from Donetsk (from 60 euros per flight), Kyiv and Warsaw (from 50 euros per flight) and Katowice and Vilnius (from 70 eur per flight).

6. For those attracted by central Asia, Pegasus offers Istanbul - Almaty (Kazakhstan) for 140 euros one way. It is possible to go there by plane and return overland, or the other way around.

Donations

In the past two years, money for both Travel Houses was collected through donations on our website and in the House, and all costs are shown in detail in the final reports (2012, 2013). This year, our goal is to collect 3.000 euros, the amount necessary for the rent, water, power, gas and Internet for two months, as well as for some basic food and hygiene supplies which will be available to all visitors during these two months. If possible, we would also like to cover at least part of the travel expenses for the House staff - those who will go to Tbilisi to find and set up the apartment and make sure everything is running smoothly. Beside that, there are always unpredictable costs; in Granada, for example, we had to paint the walls (soiled after months of use) before leaving, which added an unplanned 400 euros.

Unlike in previous years, this time the money will be collected through Indiegogo website, as well as through our own. We decided on Indiegogo in order to reach more international backers.

Donation is not required for staying in the House; it will be open to anyone able to comply with some simple rules of conduct. It doesn’t matter whether you have the money to donate, just as it doesn’t matter whether you’ll be using the House or not. What’s important is that we all do something together and help the independent travel community.

Not each man/woman for himself/herself, but travelers for travelers.

La Maison des voyageurs 2014 - Tbilissi

Après Istanbul et Grenade, notre « Maison des voyageurs » (« Travel House » en anglais) sera à Tbilissi, la capitale de la Géorgie. Tous les voyageurs peuvent y rester gratuitement, entre le 1er juillet et le 1er septembre 2014. La Maison des voyageurs est un lieu où les voyageurs peuvent dormir, manger, se rencontrer, créer des liens, partager des histoires, des expériences et des savoir-faire. C'est un pas en avant vers la construction d'une culture mondiale de voyages indépendants, explorateurs et créatifs ; mais c'est surtout un pas en avant vers une culture de la solidarité et de la compréhension de notre planète.

Ces deux dernières années, 443 voyageurs venus de 51 pays ont été hébergés dans nos Maisons de voyageurs. Le plus jeune avait 14 mois et le plus âgé, 61 ans. Ces personnes ont voyagé, exploré, parlé, cuisiné, joué de la musique, écrit et lu, de nouvelles amitiés se sont créées et d'anciennes se sont renouées.

Pourquoi Tbilissi?

La Géorgie est une excellente base pour explorer la région. Elle a des frontières avec la Turquie, l'Arménie, l'Azerbaïdjan et la Russie. L'Iran et le Kurdistan irakien sont aussi à proximité. Il y a des ferries qui traversent la Mer Caspienne vers le Turkménistan et le Kazakhstan.

La région du Caucase est habitée par une multitude de populations, qui ont leurs propres cultures et langues. Vous trouverez la République russe du Daghestan, le long de la Mer Caspienne, près de la Géorgie. Mais également l'Abkhazie, la Svanétie, la Kabardino-Balkarie, la Karatchaïévo-Tcherkessie, l'Ossétie, la Tchétchénie, l'Ingouchie. Si vous pensiez que les Balkans sont à la fois une très belle région et un mélange ethnique dangereusement complexe, vous devriez vous pencher sur le Caucase.

Séjourner dans la Maison des voyageurs

La durée maximale d'un séjour est de 5 nuits. Vous devrez vous inscrire via un formulaire qui sera bientôt en ligne.

S'il y a de la place, vous pourrez éventuellement rester plus longtemps, conditions d'aider à l'entretien de la maison.

Comment se rendre à Tbilissi?

Il y a plusieurs options possibles. Voici quelques suggestions:

1. Balkan Flexipass, un pass pour les trains valable pour la Serbie, la Macédoine, la Roumanie, la Bulgarie et la Turquie. Si vous avez moins de 26 ans, il coûte 53 euros, sinon il revient à 88 euros. Avec ce billet, vous pouvez prendre un aller-retour de Belgrade à Kars (une ville au Nord-Est de la Turquie, près de la frontière géorgienne). De Kars à Tbilissi vous pouvez prendre un bus ou faire du stop.

3. Faire du stop. La Turquie est peut-être le meilleur pays au monde pour faire du stop. Cela dit, nous recommandons aux femmes d'éviter d'en faire seules.

4. Les billets de bus d'Istanbul à Tbilissi coûtent environ 35 euros l'aller.

5. Wizzair offre des vols vers Bakou (Azerbaijan) au départ de Budapest. Le prix d'un billet aller-retour est d'environ 90 euros. Dons

Ces deux dernières années, nous avons collecté de l'argent pour les 2 Maisons des Voyageurs grâce à des dons sur notre site internet et dans la Maison elle-même, et tous les coûts sont détaillés dans un rapport final (2012, 2013). Cette année, notre objectif est de récolter 3000 euros afin de payer le loyer, l'eau, l'électricité, le gaz et internet pour deux mois, ainsi que certaines denrées de base pour l'alimentation et l'hygiène qui serviront aux visiteurs pendant la durée de leur séjour. Si possible, nous aimerions aussi pouvoir couvrir une partie des dépenses des organisateurs du projet –ceux qui se rendront à Tbilissi pour chercher et préparer l'appartement et s'assurer que tout se passera comme prévu. D'autre part, il y a toujours des coûts imprévus; à Grenade par exemple, nous avons dû repeindre les murs (abîmés après des mois d'utilisation) avant de partir, ce qui a augmenté nos dépenses de 400 euros qui n'étaient pas prévus dans notre budget.

Contrairement aux années passes, cet argent sera récolté cette année via le site internet Indiegogo, et par nous-mêmes. Nous avons fait le choix d'Indiegogo afin d'atteindre un soutien financier à l'international.

Les dons ne sont pas obligatoires pour pouvoir séjourner dans la Maison des voyageurs, elle restera ouverte à tous ceux et celles capables de respecter des règles de conduite de base.

Si vous souhaitez venir mais que vous ne pouvez pas contribuer financièrement, peu importe. A l'inverse, vous pouvez contribuer pour soutenir le projet, même si vous n'avez pas prévu de séjourner dans la Maison.

Из Стамбула и Гранады наш Travel House переехал в Тбилиси – столицу Грузии. Все путешественники могут остановиться у нас бесплатно на период с 1 июля по 1 сентября 2014 года. Travel House – это место, где путешествующие могут спать, есть, знакомиться, общаться, делиться историями, опытом и навыками. Это маленький шаг на пути к созданию глобальной культуры независимых, разведывательных и творческих путешествий, но прежде всегоэто шаг навстречу формированию культуры солидарности и понимания нашей планеты.

За последние два года 443 путешественника, прибывших из 51 страны, получили радушный прием в нашем Travel House. Самому молодому страннику было 14 месяцев, самому взрослому – 61 год. Люди путешествовали, исследовали, говорили, готовили, играли на музыкальных инструментах, писали и читали, заводили новых друзей и встречались со старыми.

Почему Тбилиси?

Грузия – это замечательное место для знакомства с регионом. Страна граничит с Турцией, Арменией, Азербайджаном и Россией. Иран и Иракский Курдистан также расположены неподалеку. Через Каспийское море можно паромом добраться до Туркменистана и Казахстана.

Кавказский регион населен множеством народов, каждый из которых имеет собственную культуру и язык. Сразу за Грузией, на берегу Каспийского моря, расположена российская республика Дагестан. Недалеко Абхазия, Сванетия, Кабардино-Балкария, Черкесия, Осетия, Чечня, Ингушетия. Если Вы думаете, что Балканы – это чрезвычайно красивый и опасный этнический микс, то Вам непременно надо побывать на Кавказе.

Остановиться в Travel House

Существует ограничение по срокам пребывания в Travel House – 4 ночей. Для того чтобы остановиться в Travel House, необходимо заполнить форму регистрации, которая будет опубликована в ближайшее время.

Если в наличии будет свободная комната, Вы при желании сможете остаться на более длительный срок при условии оказания помощи по дому.

Как добраться до Тбилиси?

Существуют различные варианты, некоторые предложения приведены ниже.

1. Balkan Flexipass –поезд, проходящий через Сербию, Македонию, Румынию, Болгарию и Турцию. Для лиц моложе 26 лет билет будет стоить 53 евро, для людей старше – 88 евро. С этим билетом можно путешествовать из Белграда до Карса(город на Северо-Востоке Турции, граничащий с Грузией) и обратно. Из Карса до Тбилиси можно добраться автобусом или автостопом.

2. Турецкий low cost авиаперевозчик Pegasus предлагает дешевые авиабилеты в Стамбул из множества европейских городов, а также из Стамбула в Тбилиси, Батуми, Краснодар и Баку. Узнать расписание полетов Pegasus можно по ссылке: все рейсы и Турция.

3. Автостоп. Турция, возможно, является лучшей страной в мире в плане путешествия автостопом, тем не менее, мы по-прежнему не советуем девушками стопить самостоятельно.

4. Билет на автобус из Стамбула до Тбилиси стоит около 35 евро в один конец.

5. Перелет авиакомпанией Wizzair в Баку(Азербайджан) из Будапешта, цена билета туда-обратно – примерно 90 евро. Есть также рейсы в Кутаиси(Грузия) из Донецка – от 60 евро в одну сторону, из Киева и Варшавы – от 50 евро в одну сторону, из Катовицы и Вильнюса – от 70 евро в одну сторону.

6. Для путешествующих из Центральной Азии Pegasus предлагает рейс Стамбул – Алма-Аты(Казахстан) стоимостью 140 евро в один конец. Возможно в одну сторону добраться по воздуху, а вернуться по суше, или наоборот.

Пожертвования

За последние два года деньги для обоих Travel House были собраны за счет пожертвований на нашем сайте и в самом Travel House, все расходы подробно показаны в итоговых отчетах (2012, 2013). В этом году наша цель состоит в том, чтобы собрать 3.000 евро – сумму, необходимую для аренды жилья, оплаты водоснабжения, электроэнергии, газа и Интернет в течение двух месяцев, а также для покупки основных продуктов питания и гигиенического обеспечения, которые будут доступны для всех посетителей в течение двух месяцев. Istanbul ve Granada'dan sonra 'Gezgin Evi'miz Gürcistan'ın başkenti Tiflis'e taşınıyor. 1 Temmuz – 1 Eylül 2014 arası evimizin kapıları bütün gezginlere açık! Ücretsiz kalabileceğiniz gezgin evimizde uyuyabilir, yemek yiyebilir, diğer gezginlerle tanışabilir, hayat hikayelerinizi, tecrübelerinizi ve yeteneklerinizi paylaşabilirsiniz. Evimiz dayanışma ruhunu yüceltmeyi ve dünya görüşümüzü geliştirmeyi amaçlamak birlikte, bağımsız merak eden, keşfeden ve yaratıcı gezginlerle birlikte bağımsız, özgün bir evrensel kültür inşa etme amacını gerçekleştirmeye yönelik atılmış bir adımdır.

Yeterli miktarda bağış toplayabildiğimiz takdirde Tiflis'e gidip kiralayacağımız evi bulup gerekli bütün anlaşmaları yapan gezgin evi çalışanlarımızın Gürcistan'a ulaşım masraflarını karşılamak istiyoruz. Bunun dışında geçtiğimiz yıl Granada'da yaşadığımız (kiraladığımız evi boşaltırken boya-badana yapmak zorunda, dolayısıyla ekstra masrafta bulunmak zorunda kaldık) gibi her zaman karşılaşabileceğimiz ekstra masraflarla da mücadele edebilmemiz için bağışlarınıza ihtiyacımız var.

Depois de Istambul e Granada, a nossa Casa dos Viajantes (The Travel House) vai até Tbilisi, capital da Georgia. Todos os viajantes podem ficar lá gratuitamente entre 1 de Julho e 1 de Setembro de 2014. A Travel House é um sítio onde os viajantes podem dormir, comer, conhecer-se uns aos outros, partilhar histórias, experiências e competencias. É um pequeno passo na construção de uma cultura global de viagens independentes, exploratórias e criativas, mas acima de tudo, é um passo para uma cultura de solidariedade e compreensão do nosso planeta.

Durante os dois anos anteriores, 443 viajantes de 51 países diferentes ficaram alojados nas duas Travel Houses. O mais novo tinha apenas 14 meses e o mais velho 61 anos de idade. Muitos viajaram, exploraram, conversaram, cozinharam, partilharam músicas, escritas e leituras, novas amizades foram construídas, e as antigas fortalecidas.

Porquê Tbilisi?

Como chegar a Tbilisi?

Há várias possibilidades. Aqui ficam algumas sugestões:

1. Balkan Flexipass, um passe válido para a Sérvia, Macedónia, Roménia, Bulgária e Turquia. Se tiver uma idade inferior a 26 anos ou superior a 88, custa apenas 53€. Com este bilhete pode ir de Belgrado a Kars e voltar ( Kars é uma cidade no extremo nordeste da Turquia, perto da fronteira com a Georgia). De Kars até Tbilisi pode viajar de autocarro ou à boleia.

2. A companhia low cost turca Pegasus oferece voos baratos até Istambul com origem em muitas cidades europeias. Depois de Istambul até Tbilisi, Batumi, Krasnodar e Baku. Pode consultar os voos da Pegasus aqui.

3. Boleias. A Turquia é provavelmente o melhor país do mundo no que diz respeito a boleias. Um alerta: raparigas não devem apanhar boleia sozinhas.

4. O bilhete de autocarro de Istambul até Tbilisi ronda os 35€ por viagem.

5. A Wizzair tem voos de Budapeste até Baku (Azerbaijão). O preço de um bilhete de retorno ronda os 90€. Tem também voos até Kutaisi (Georgia) desde Donetsk (desde 60€ o voo), Kiev e Varsóvia (desde 50€ por voo) Katowice e Vilnius (desde 70€ por voo).

6. Para os que são atraídos pela Ásia Central, a Pegasus oferece viagens Istambul – Almaty (Cazaquistão) por 140€ por viagem. É possível viajar num sentido de avião e no regresso fazer o percurso por terra, ou ao contrário.

Donativos

Nos passados dois anos, o dinheiro para ambas as Casas dos Viajantes foi conseguido através de donativos no nosso site e na casa em questão especificamente e todos os custos foram mostrados detalhadamente nos relatórios finais (2012 e 2013). Este ano, o nosso objetivo é recolher 3.000€, o montante necessário para renda, água, luz, gás e internet durante dois meses, assim como para alguma comida essencial e complementos higiénicos que estarão disponíveis a todos os visitantes durante esse mesmo período. Se possível, gostaríamos também de cobrir pelo menos parte das despesas para com o staff da casa – aqueles que vão a Tbilisi para arranjar o apartamento e garantir que está tudo tranquilo para receber os próximos viajantes. Além disto há sempre custos imprevisíveis; em Granada, por exemplo, tivemos que pintar as paredes (sujas após meses de uso), o que acrescentou uns não planeados 400€ às nossas despesas.

Ao contrário dos anos anteriores, este ano o dinheiro será recolhido através do website Indiegogo, assim como pelo nosso próprio. Apostámos no Indiegogo para que conseguíssemos chegar a mais apoios internacionais.

Para ficar na casa não é necessário fazer nenhum donativo; vai estar aberta a qualquer pessoa que esteja capaz de cumprir simples regras de conduta. Não interessa se tem dinheiro para doar assim como não interessa se irá usar a casa ou não. O que é importante é que todos façam algo em conjunto que contribua para a comunidade do viajante independente.

自伊斯坦堡和格拉納達後，我們的旅遊房子下一站是格魯吉亞的首都－第比利斯。由2014年7月1日至9月1日，所有旅行者都可在這房子免費居住。旅遊房子是一個給旅行者休息，用膳的地方，也是一個與人聯繫，互相認識，分享生活體驗和小故事的地方。這所房子建立了創意旅遊，具探索及獨立的全球文化的一小步，而每個小步團結起來就能更加認識我們的世界。

過去兩年，旅遊房子已招待了來自51個國家的443位旅行者。最年輕的只有14個月大，而年紀最大的有61歲。大家一起遊歷，一起煮食，讀書寫字和玩音樂。重燃起舊日友情及打造了新友誼。

為什麼是第比利斯？

Tras Estambul y Granada, la casa de viajeros se mueve a Tiflis, la capital de Georgia. Estará abierta del 1 de julio a 1 de noviembre del 2014y será gratuita para todo el mundo. Viajeros de todas partesse encontrarán en ella, conociéndose, relacionándose e intercambiando historias, experiencias y habilidades. La casa de viajeros es un pequeño paso hacia la construcción de una cultura global de viajes independiente, exploradores y creativos, y aún más: un paso hacia el desarrollo de la cultura de la solidaridad y comprensión del planeta común.

En los últimos dos años, Las casas de viajeros han hospedado 443 viajeros de 51 países en total. El invitado más joven tenía sólo 14 meses, y el más viejo 61 años. Allí se cantaba, aprendía, hablaba, cocinaba y leía, se formaban amistades nuevas y se renovaban las viejas.

Por qué Tiflis?

Georgia es la base genial para explorar la región. Hace frontera con Turquía, Armenia, Azerbaiyán y Rusia. En las cercanías se encuentran Irán y el Kurdistán Iraquí, y a través del mar Caspio se llega a Turkmenistán y Kazajistán.

En el Cáucaso viven muchas naciones con culturas y lenguas distintas.Allí se encuentra la república rusa de Daguestán, a lo largo delmar Caspio, junto a Georgia. Allí está Abjasia, Svanetia, Kabardia-Balkaria, Cherkesia, Osetia, Chechenia, Ingusetia. Si alguna vez habéis pensado que los Balcanes son una mezcla étnica excepcionalmente preciosa y peligrosamente compleja, tenéis que ver el Cáucaso.

Estancia en la casa de viajeros

El límite para quedarse en La casa es 5 noches. Tienes que registrarte a través de un formulario de aplicación que vamos a publicar pronto.

Si hay espacio en el momento, podrás quedarte más, a condición de que estés dispuesto a ayudar con las tareas de la casa.

Cómo llegar a Tiflis?

Hay varias opciones. Aquí están nuestras sugerencias:

Nach Istanbul und Granada zieht unser Haus der Reisenden nach Tiflis, die Hauptstadt Georgiens um. Alle Reisenden können dort zwischen dem 1. Juli und dem 1 September 2014 umsonst übernachten. Das Haus der Reisenden ist ein Ort wo Reisende übernachten, essen, sich gegenseitig kennen lernen, Kontakte knüpfen und Geschichten, Erfahrungen und Fähigkeiten austauschen können. Es ist ein kleiner Schritt in Richtung Entstehung einer globalen Kultur der selbstständigen, erforschenden und kreativen Reise und vor allem ein Schritt zum Entstehen einer Kultur der Solidarität und des Verstehens unseres Planeten.

In den letzten zwei Jahren haben wir 443 Reisenden aus 51 Ländern in unserem Haus der Reisenden gehostet. Der jüngste Gast war gerade mal 14 Monate alt und der älteste 61. Die Leute haben gereist, gesprochen, gekocht, Musik gespielt, geschrieben und gelesen, neue Freundschaften wurden geknüpft und alte wurden erneuert.

Warum Tiflis?

Georgien ist ein toller Ausgangspunkt, um die Region zu erforschen. Das Land grenzt an die Türkei, Armenien, Aserbaidschan und Russland. Iran und Kurdistan sind außerdem auch in der Nähe. Über das Kaspische Meer kann man mit einer Fähre nach Turkmenistan und Kasachstan gelangen.

Der Kaukasus ist eine Region, die mit verschiedensten Völkern, deren Kulturen und Sprachen bewohnt ist. Da ist nähmlich der russische Staat Dagestan beim Kaspischen Meer, gleich bei Georgien. Dort findet man auch Abchasien, Swanetien, Kabardino-Balkarien, Tscherkessien, Ossetien, Tschetschenien, Inguschetien. Falls Sie gedacht haben, dass der Balkan ein extrem schöner und gefährlicher Komplex von Ethnischer Mischung ist, sollten Sie unbedingt den Kaukasus sehen.

Der Aufenthalt im Haus der Reisenden

Das Limit für den Aufenthalt im Haus ist 5 Nächte. Sie werden sich per Application anmelden müssen. Die Application wird demnächst veröffentlicht.

Falls es zur gegebenen Zeit noch Platz gibt, wird es vielleicht möglich sein, länger zu bleiben, dafür sollten Sie aber im Haushalt mithelfen wollen.

Wie kommt man nacht Tiflis?

Es gibt einige Optionen. Hier ein paar Vorschläge:

1. Balkan Flexipass ist ein Bahnticket, das für Serbien, Makedonien, Rumänien, Bulgarien und die Türkei gültig ist. Wenn sie jünger als 26 sind, kostet es 53 € und für die, die älter als 26 sind, 88 €. Mit diesem Ticket, können Sie von Belgrad nach Kars (einer Stadt im Nordosten der Türkei, nahe an der georgischen Grenze) hin und zurück fahren. Von Kars bis Tiflis sind es nur ein paar Stunden mit dem Bus oder per Anhalter.

3. Trampen. Die Türkei ist vielleicht das beste Land auf Erden für Trampen. Trotzdem empfehlen wir den Mädchen nicht alleine zu trampen.

4. Busticket in eine Richtung aus Istanbul nach Tiflis kostet ungefähr 35 €.

5. Die Fluggesellschaft Wizzair fliegt nach Baku (Aserbaidschan) aus Budapest. Ein Hin- und Rückflug-Ticket kostet ungefähr 90 €. Es gibt auch Flüge nach Kutaisi (Georgien) aus Donezk ( cca. 60 € pro Flug), Kiew und Warschau (cca. 50 € pro Flug) und Katowice und Vilnius ( cca. 70 € pro Flug).

Spenden

In den letzten 2 Jahren wurde das Geld zur Finanzierung des Hauses für Reisende über Spenden auf unserer Webseite und in unserem Haus gesammelt. Alle Kosten sind in unseren Berichten (2012 und 2013) detailiert beschrieben. Dieses Jahr ist unser Ziel 3000 €. Mit dieser Summe können wir das Haus mit Wasser, Strom, Gas und Internet für zwei Monate mieten, wie auch einige Grundnahrungsmittel oder Hygieneartikel kaufen, die allen im Haus in diesen 2 Monaten zur Verfügung stehen werden. Falls es möglich ist, würden wir die Kosten decken wollen für das Hauspersonal, das nach Tiflis fährt, die Wohnung sucht und sicher stellt, dass alles ohne Probleme läuft. Außerdem gibt es immer unvorhergesehene Kosten, wie zum Beispiel in Granada, wo wir die Wände bemalen mussten, bevor wir gegangen sind, was zusätzliche 400 € gekostet hat.

Im Gegensatz zu den zwei vorherigen Jahren, wollen wir in diesem Jahr außer auf unserer Seite, die Spenden auch über die Seite Indiegogo sammeln. Wir haben uns dafür entschieden um mehr internationale Spender zu erreichen.

Die Spende ist nicht nötig um im Haus zu übernachten. Das Haus wird für alle offen sein, die sich an einfache Verhaltensregeln halten können. Es macht nichts, wenn Sie das Geld für die Spende nicht haben, genau wie es nichts ausmacht ob Sie das Haus nützen wollen oder nur spenden wollen. Was wichtig ist, ist das wir alle etwas für die selbstständige Reisegemeinschaft tun.
